Recently trundled in to me product samples of the new coffee flavors by ActiveO2, the oxygen-fashion drink from the house Adelholzener.
I like really all that caffeine, especially coffee and tea, and water with caffeine and / or coffee flavor I have found exciting times per se. But even the “natural” caffeine, respectively, evaporated the look on the ingredients list is the hope of finding something to which the weary cycle takes up to speed: The caffeine content is 50 mg per bottle 0.75l. This corresponds to a cup of coffee.
Even otherwise the ingredients are typical. The coffee fruit lotions containing natural mineral water, fructose, citric acid, flavors, sodium citrate, salt, sodium cyclamate, sodium saccharin, acesulfame-K, flavor: caffeine 0.006%, vitamin mixture: niacinamide, pantothenate, vitamin B6, biotin, Vitamit B12, oxygen 0.005%. .
To citric acid (and the used sweeteners), I recommend a look at the matching contributions at Dr. Watson - The Food detective.
Equally questionable is the ‘health claim’ added to the oxygen:
To stay physically and mentally fit, oxygenated drinks are especially popular. The oxygen O2 of water ACTIVE Adelholzener containing 50 mg of oxygen per liter.
The dissolved oxygen from the water passes through the stomach wall into the blood vessels of the abdominal cavity, thus in the venous blood which the internal organs of the abdominal cavity, especially the liver. The liver plays a key role in all metabolic processes, making them available to the organism through the food supplied energy. Even fat loss and detoxification (alcohol, drugs, etc.) pertaining to their tasks.
So that oxygen is mainly responsible for our mental and physical performance.
As far as the press release.
There’s only one flaw. Homo sapiens is designed to absorb oxygen in exactly one way: by breathing through the lungs into the bloodstream. Otherwise, the effect of oxygen, as everyone knows from chemistry class, one thing above all: oxidation - and that’s incineration plant and the exact opposite of energy. Scientifically, at least so far, such an effect of oxygen added to water not detectable.
Therefore crucial to question everything. As the trend for little water tastes now?
Opening the mango coffee bottle, rises a one very pleasant aroma of freshly roasted coffee in the nose - that would suit me well, were it not for the pushy artificial mango flavor that really do not like the coffee aroma and flavor matches . Only as a coffee-flavored could imagine the whole thing like the mango flavor, however, has been much too intense. In conjunction with the various sweeteners, also for three plus plenty of fructose (33 grams per liter beaten yet) vorzuschmeckenden synthetic sweetness of the drink has the flavor even more unnatural. Überaromatisiert, and WAY too sweet. Why in heaven’s name must taste a refreshing drink quietschsüß?
The same applies to the raspberry version, in which sets of Kaffeeton completely, but does not taste quite so abnormal after an industrial flavor - maybe because I was in the raspberry syrup smell still remember from childhood? Here too, everything is too sweet überaromatisiert. Ice cold drinks can be both just endured barely.
Really well - with the use point of view - I can only find the bottles, which supply the drink. The light designed as a sports bottle plastic bottles have a cap, from which hearuskommt only drink when you are sucking them, that is completely drip-free. That would ActiveO2 (but not in that flavor) drink as a reasonable cycling do. Bottom line, these bottles are, however, complete packing madness …
